Baking Some Tasty Gingerbread Treats!
Residents Louise and Annie have been busy baking some yummy gingerbread treats!
To prevent any possible winter blues and warm up the home, we put together a tasty gingerbread recipe made from traditional ingredients. The smell from the baking filled the entire home and so many residents wanted to try some!
First, we had to decide on what kind of lovely treats to make. Louise and Anne chosen gingerbread cookies in the shape of gingerbread men.
Next, we had to make sure that we had measured out our ingredients correctly. We spent a lot of time mixing to make sure everything was blended together.
When baking we made sure to set a timer so that the cookies were baked perfectly even on both sides and did not burn.
But the most fun part was of course eating what we had worked hard to make – after the delicious cookies had cooled down of course!
Activities Coordinator Jackie commented:
"Putting our residents first by thinking, planning, and carrying out different activities is at the heart of what we do at The Island Residential Home.
We know our customers feel happy, valued and connected when engaging in activities together and we will continue to prioritise their wellbeing in this way."
