Music With Helen
We have an engaging activities programme here at our home and were recently joined by Helen, who led an excellent session focussed on music and movement.
As well as being therapeutic, music sessions are extremely fun. Helen gave residents tambourines, shakers and maracas to play along with some large scarves to wave whilst she played some classics on various instruments including the flute, saxophone and clarinet.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the session which was tuneful and rather loud. The next step is for them to start forming their own Island Residential Home band!
Registered Manager Julian explained:
"We work hard to make sure that our activities programme is not only varied, but built around the likes and wishes of our residents.
This music session was great fun and it was positive to be joined by Helen who is extremely talented.
Music as therapy forms part of our activities programme and we are looking forward to hopefully welcoming Helen back at some point."
