PJ Party for Children in Need
We’ve all been there. It’s a cold miserable morning and we snuggle down further in bed and sigh to ourselves; “Do I really need to get dressed today?
The residents and staff at the Island were in luck last week, as they hosted a ‘PJ Day’ in aid of Children in Need. Dressed in their cosiest apparel, everyone contributed a little something in aid of the charity event, raising a whopping total of £322!
A mixture of different fundraising activities were used to raise money for the special cause.
Staff brought in their different items to sell, ranging from clothes, toys and The Island manager bought in a selection of books from her childhood. People were also especially happy to be in their comfies because there was a massive bake sale/ complete with fairy cakes, brownies and a very lifelike Pudsey Cake which was decorated to perfection.
Luckily, people were on hand to quickly take photos of all the cakes, because they were all gone in under ten minutes!
Kuldish, The Island's director, was overwhelmed with the support from the residents, staff and local community;
“These events are always special, because they really bring out the best in people and make you realise how willing everyone is to do things for others. The effort, creativity and generosity of the public is inspiring.”
